Up on their brand new shelves! You can actually buy the old shelves this Saturday August 27 but more on that later. Let's discuss what's happening Monday August 29th! After nearly two years of construction, the Morton Mandan Public Library will be opening their doors.
At long last, the library will open its doors on Monday, August 29th, at 10am, and will restart most services such as public computer use, public printing, checking out items, passport and notary services, and more.
Hours will be Monday-Friday from 10am-5pm and Saturday from 10am-3pm. The library will remain closed on Sunday. These hours are expected to expand as the year progresses, and as staff and patrons get used to being open in a brand-new space.
The construction project has been taking place since October of 2020. It has included and 8,000 square foot addition, a garage for the bookmobile, and a large public meeting room. The Library has stayed open in many capacities since the project began, but the public has not been able to enter the building since November of 2021.
Actually Saturday August 27th you get a chance to bring some of the old library back home with you.
Morton Mandan Public Library will be holding a small rummage sale with the last of their replaced shelving, furniture, and some technology. The sale will take place from 10am-4pm on both Saturdays, and will operate out of the library’s new meeting room space on the east side of the building. Patrons will be able to enter via the patio doors on the Dykshoorn Park side of the building.
It's the second Saturday of the sale so come see what they have left- first come first served.
