10 Real Housewives Scenes That Fans Skip, According To Reddit

As authentic and dramatic as The Real Housewives is on Bravo, there are some scenes so awkward that fans fast-forward to save their time.

As juicy as some of The Real Housewives scenes are, they're not always easy to get through. More recently, Drew Sidora and her husband's romantic dinner scene in season 14 of RHOA went sour quickly, making it more sad than entertaining. The same can be said for Chanel Ayan's explanation of her childhood trauma on RHODubai.

The women of The Real Housewives franchise keep it real in front of the cameras. On Reddit, it's not always the sad or chaotic scenes that make fans skip the episode. Sometimes it's particular scenes in a franchise or a similar theme in multiple cities that fans cannot stomach more than once.

In multiple franchises, there are moments where a Housewife is (or wants to be) a musician, that requires some sort of recording studio. And if the Housewives aren't singers, there are sometimes group singing moments — as seen recently on RHOC and RHONJ.

However, it's these musical scenes that made ButFirst_IcedCoffee press fast-forward. "But the one thing I can’t do? Any scene/storyline that involves recording a song. They’re so cringey and I get so much second-hand embarrassment, especially because of the sheer lack of talent," they wrote. The outing is done so much that it's easier to say cities that haven't shown this than those that have. It's far too staged of a scene.

Kenya Moore has had her villainous moments on RHOA but she has also had heartbreaking times throughout the show that allowed fans to change their perspectives. As tough as Kenya can be, it was upsetting seeing her tell her Aunt Lori about the death of her beloved dog, Velvet.

Hunt_Zombie told Reddit they always skipped "Kenya telling Aunt Lori how Velvet died. Just way, way too heartbreaking." Similarly, there were other fans on the Reddit thread who skipped through death scenes because they were too dark for an upbeat, reality TV show.

Emily Simpson is one of the most liked current Housewives on RHOC. She's intelligent, she's honest, and she's real about her struggles on camera. As is the case with most Housewives, however, not every fan of the series is going to like every Housewife.

Ledge9999 told Reddit that they typically skip Emily's scenes. "Anytime Emily tries to be funny, literally begging to be called 'iconic.' [A] perfect example is the sandwich in the sauna or the snacks for the ghosts in the mine." While Emily's sub in the sauna moment was seen as relatable, every Housewife isn't for every fan.

Most Housewives have kids that fans absolutely love and have grown up in front of the camera. As viewers, it's entertaining to see how the Housewives run their homes and raise their children.

But as it appears, some fans are not interested in the future growth of the kids of the Housewives. Meeko5122 said, "Kids going to college. I simply do not care." However, Oreo808 cared about those scenes but skipped them because of the "dramatic music and the crying and the anxiety on my screen."

Former Housewife of New Jersey, Jacqueline Laurita, had a hard time with her firstborn, Ashlee. Jacqueline was honest about her struggles raising Ashlee as a single mom before her future husband Chris swept in and gave her security.

Despite their wealthy lifestyle, Ashlee was rarely appreciative and she and her mom bumped heads on most issues. Because of this, most of their scenes together are skipped by Kailscanvasart. "Oh LORD that horrific scene at brunch when Ashley says Jacqueline is basically a piece of sh*t for having a kid so young. I’d be in jail and she’d be picking up her teeth," they wrote. It was a monumental episode to watch for Jacqueline's evolution but it was hard to watch.

There comes a time in every Housewives' time on the show when an intimate moment between them and their partners are shown. While romantic dinners are sweet to see, many fans on Reddit agree that the line is crossed when the Housewives get sexual on camera with their partners.

"[Bathtub scenes] Or any romance scenes in general (Brawnyn and her husband on Valentine’s Day come to mine)," Bendandsnap27 wrote. These scenes are viewed as forced and eventually become controversial because viewers want to skip them every time they're on.

It can be hard watching the Richards sisters on RHOBH because of their tricky dynamic. Between Kyle, Kim, and Kathy, the three sisterly Housewives are rarely on the same page.

Because their scenes can be toxic, Kailscanvasart can't stomach through their scenes together — specifically SUR's opening night. "Kim and Kyle crying at Lisa’s SUR party when Kim is wrecked and that Ken leech is hanging around. I lost my sister to addiction and it’s too close to home," the Redditor wrote.

The best episodes on The Real Housewives rarely revolved around team-based events. However, it's a trope in the franchise that's happened in most cities. Whenever there's a large feud in the group, someone always suggests doing some kind of obstacle course or teamwork-based event to bring everyone together.

Little-Royal-6843 wrote "Murder mystery dinner/escape room/obstacle course type activities" were the episodes they skipped the most. The-trembles joked "Maybe now we will figure out how to work together!”

While fans enjoy learning about every aspect of a Houswife, there are some dynamics with their mothers that don't sit right with viewers.

Housewives like Kandi Burruss, Teresa Giudice, and Marysol Patton have all had their mothers play large roles in their respective franchises. And while they're entertaining, Allonsys skipped through the mom scenes. "Scenes involving 'big personality mums' who are trying too hard" are the ones they skip through the most. Some fans don't care for the Housewives' extended family and would rather learn more about the Housewife instead.

Drew Sidora has made a name for herself on the RHOA franchise in the short time she's been a part of the roster. The one person who hasn't made the best impression with RHOA fans, however, is Drew's husband Ralph.

Nibbler747 wrote, Anything with Ralph talking to Drew. I find him so awful I just fast-forward their scenes." When viewers are fast-forwarding through scenes of a House Husband, it doesn't look good for the Housewife's future in the franchise.
