NORTH HOLLYWOOD-TOLUCA LAKE, CA — Everyone wants a piece of Hollywood history, but few can afford it. The long-time home of comedic legend Bob Hope has sat on the market for months while billionaire supermarket magnate Ron Burkle holds out for a buyer willing to pay a record-setting $29 million for the Toluca Lake compound.

If he finds a full-price buyer, it would be the most expensive home ever sold in Toluca Lake, and it would net him almost double what he paid for the property in 2018.

Hope and his wife Dolores spent most of their life together on the property until he died in 2003 at 100-years-old. Together they hosted the likes of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Joe DiMaggio, Marilyn Monroe and multiple presidents.

The home features the one-hole golf-course that Hope designed and the original oak library Hope used. The home boasts six fireplaces, 10 bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, a large dining room and extensive private outdoor terraces. The updates painstakingly preserved the architectural elements by John Elgin Woolf, the father of the Hollywood Regency style.
