Grammy-nominated songwriter/record producer Tyler Johnson — probably best known as a main collaborator of music superstar Harry Styles, who notched his first No. 1 hit with the artist’s “Adore You” in 2020 — has spent $2.9 million for a stylishly revamped house in the Hollywood Hills.
Built in the early 1950s and recently renovated, per the listing, the contemporary villa-meets-ranch-style spread previously served as the longtime residence of “Grey’s Anatomy” star Kevin McKidd, who sold the place for just over $1.8 million back in 2020. Johnson, who splits his time between Nashville and Los Angeles, won the property in a big bidding war — paying $600,000 over the asking price.
Secluded behind walls and gates, on a heavily wooded parcel spanning over a quarter of an acre, the cream-hued stucco structure is fronted by a driveway that empties out at a single-car garage that’s connected to a carport with room for an additional vehicle. Inside, the two-bedroom, two-bath house holds almost 1,800 square feet of light-filled living space boasting high ceilings, decorative tile and hardwood floors, clerestory windows and French doors throughout.
A walkway cruises up to a columned portico entryway that flows into a formal living room. From there, a fireside family room opens to the outdoors, and sits adjacent to a dining area, along with a sleekly designed gourmet kitchen outfitted with an eat-in island and high-end stainless appliances.
A spacious master retreat comes complete with an office nook, walk-in closet and two sets of French doors spilling out to a courtyard hosting an ornate fountain, which rests next to a detached office/studio space with skylights. There’s also a mural-clad bath spotlighted by a clawfoot soaking tub and doorless shower.
As for the picturesque grounds, expect to find a grassy lawn abutting a freeform pool, plus stone steps leading to an upper-level yard holding a unique barrel-shaped sauna surrounded by greenery.
The listing was held by Juliette Hohnen of Douglas Elliman; Justin Paul Huchel of Hilton & Hyland repped the buyer.
